It's the last day of winter break, and, wow, is it cold. I think winter has finally come to join us.
We had such a busy first part of break, filled with travel, parties, family, and celebrations. And to balance that, we've had an incredibly quiet second half, filled with illness, rest, and recovery.
So, today, it's time to get back into things. We have errands to run, and that means getting dressed and going places.
Despite all the grumbling, I know we will all be happy to head back to school/work tomorrow.

Happy New Year!
A new year, and a few resolutions ...
Get back into blogging.
Spend less time on my phone.
Be more organized and get rid of clutter.
I feel like I should be able to handle these.
And how was the end of 2015?
We are all sick and quarantined and spent New Year's Eve at home. I made party food (spinach artichoke dip and Mexican bean dip), and we watched football (Roll Tide!) and Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve. Baby G declared it bedtime after she watched Taylor Swift's new video premiere, but Bean Dip was determined to stay up to watch the NYC ball and the Nashville music note drop.
And he made it!
Here's to a year of reunions, adventures, peace, health, and happiness.

Meet Marigold
Another first for our family -- a pet!
We finally bit the bullet and committed to another family member. G has been wanting a kitten for ages, and so, for an early birthday present, she adopted Marigold today. She is about nine weeks old, and so far, seems to be adjusting well.
G is just beside herself with happiness.
BD is not as thrilled. He has been repeatedly telling us that he wants nothing to do with a cat. He announced to Win (as though ratting us out), that "Susan and Gwyn are planning on getting a cat."
But, he might be coming around. He still hasn't touched her once, but he likes watching her play, and he even volunteered to feed her in the mornings.
As we were all sitting in the bathroom this afternoon watching Marigold sniff her new surroundings, BD whispered to me, "I hope she doesn't attack my dangly bits."
I told him, "As long as you keep your pants on, I think you'll be fine."
